Celebrity Couples' First-Dance Songs That Say A Lot About Their Relationship

Whether you're a funky chicken kind of couple or more comfortable cutting a mean rug, the first song you and your partner dance to won't go unnoticed. Whether you like it or not, that track will be making a major statement. Some people try to make their debut dance a tear-jerker; others want everyone to flock to the dance floor. There's no wrong way to go about it, but one thing's for sure: a couple's wedding song reveals a lot about their relationship. And A-listers are no exception. It's time to dissect what these song choices say about the celebrity couples who chose them.

Beyonce and Jay-Z — “Crazy in Love”

What song better encapsulates the true romance of music’s biggest moguls than the duet they co-wrote about falling hard? Bey and Jay kickstarted a night of epic partying and a lifetime of marital bliss by cutting shapes to their smash hit “Crazy in Love.” Let's hope the newly-married pair looked more loved-up crazy than wild-eyed crazy as they sashayed around the dance floor back in 2008.

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston — “The Way You Look Tonight"

Back in 2000, two of the biggest stars in Hollywood spent an eye-watering one million dollars on the wedding bash of their dreams. Somewhere in between the nearly $20,000 firework display and the 40-person choir performance, they cozied up to Sinatra's “The Way You Look Tonight” with the gleaming pacific ocean for a backdrop.

Kate Middleton and Prince William — “Your Song”

After the whole world watched these young royals swap vows, they let loose behind closed doors at their private reception. Only those close enough to receive an invite were privy to their first dance. The newlyweds danced to Elton John's “Your Song,” performed live by pop icon Ellie Goulding. Apparently, Goulding's nerves are the main thing she remembers from the rendition. What does that say about the dancing then?

Michael Bublé & Luisana Lopilato — “Everybody Loves Somebody"

Love song crooner Michael Bublé opted for the velvety notes of his hero Dean Martin for his and Luisana's special day. It was a tough choice, but the singer and his spouse settled on the classic “Everybody Loves Somebody.” And according to Bublé, that first dance was just the beginning, “It was a great night — really, a beautiful night. Her family is so special and my family is so special that when they came together, we danced ’til 7 a.m.”
